Size 4!

I went to the thrift store yesterday and bought a a pair of Size 4 jeans. Yep size 4! And they fit perfectly. Perplexing...I am still shocked. From June until now I lost about 30lbs without much work. I left for Europe in June wearing a size 12-14!

Returning home I realized I had all that weight on me from soy chai's, clif bars, grad school and lack of exercise. chai's are few and far between these days. In fact they are nice but do nothing for me. The clif bars I am treating as an addiction and will not even go near one. I have been doing yoga and sit ups every day especially before my night shift. It wakes me up and keeps my head clear. I eat regular vegan meals. In Europe I loved the chocolate. But really that's it. It feels great and what is awesome is I have not put any weight back on since I have been back in the States. In fact, I have lost 4 lbs since I have been back.

Then- May-July 2006
Creeeepy!

Congratulations! You look very cute, before and after, but it sounds as though you're feeling better - and that's important.

Thanks! It *does* feel good. I have so much more energy and am having a fabulous time buying new clothes and tossing my old ones to Goodwill.

Wowsers. You did get littler. Not that you were big to begin with. Reminds me of Nicaragua where vegetarianism wasn't so big, so I only beans and rice and tortillas and oreos. I kept telling my host family that my clothes were too big because they weren't re-shrinking the the dryer (like they do at home) and didn't even realize I was getting smaller until I got home and got on a scale. It was just so gradual. This turned into a longer explanation than is needed. Anyway, you look great (like Hafida Sophia said, before and after!) and it is great that you are feeling well. Glad you are keeping up the blog. Also, did you see the UU World article about ethical eating? http://www.uuworld.org/ideas/articles/11130.shtml
Very disappointing. Sigh. Anyway, all the best! Elizabeth
