Budapest

Just returned from a walk around Budapest. Quite a beautiful city at dusk. It is 10pm and everyone is out watching the World Cup at outdoor bars and restaurants. Will attach some pictures in the next few days. We found an apartment in the city center. The owners picked us up from the aiport and will take us to the bus terminal tomorrow. Really nice family, they are.

Tomorrow we have a long bus ride to Kolozsvar, Romania. Tonight we might get a full nights sleep!

Hi Cecily. How fun to be traveling! Todd's family on his mom's side is from Romania. His grandma traveled to Prague during World War II and joined the resistance against the Nazi's. That is where she met Todd's grandpa. They lost so many family members to the Holocaust. Todd is first born American. His grandma was a tough lady. She kind of scared me when I first met her! If she didn't like you she would let you know. But, luckily she liked me and was good to me in her own way. She told me her story one day before mine and Todd's wedding, and gave me her first wedding ring that survived the war. I was pretty touched. Anyway, I can't wait to hear about Romania from you guys. Have a great trip! Love and Blessings dear friends. Cathy.

Thanks Cathy!
Byron will be doing a big project on both the holocaust and resistors. We hope to see Auschwitz and definitely the Anne Frank house.
